Emergency work was carried out on Monday night at the Harbour View roundabout, to fix sections of the roadway which collapsed during heavy rains.

This, according to minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth, Senator Matthew Samuda.

The update follows footage which emerged on social media last night, showing several vehicles stuck in the collapsed sections of the roadway.

Providing an explanation last night, Mr Samuda noted that the section of the roadway which collapsed was being excavated by the National Water Commission for new sewage lines.

He noted that the issue has been addressed and persons are now able to traverse the roundabout smoothly.
