The Education Ministry is to construct a temporary structure at the Discovery Bay High School, in St. Ann within the next two months.

That’s according to Education Minister Fayval Williams, who was responding to questions about the lack of space at the facility.

On Monday, principal of the institution Dwayne Mulgrave noted that the government had promised to erect a structure, but this was not done prior to the start of the new academic year.

Mr. Mulgrave said some classes were being kept in an unfinished building, due to the shortage of suitable spaces.

Responding to questions from Irie FM News, Mrs. Williams said she is aware of the situation while noting that a temporary steel structure is to be constructed.

As it relates to transfers generally, the minister called on principals to hold off on accepting students.
