Education Minister urges parents to ensure children obey school rules
With the new school year on the horizon, Education Minister Fayval Williams is urging parents to avoid reinforcing negative behaviour in their children and to ensure their children obey school rules.
Mrs Williams made the call while speaking at the North Street Seventh Day Adventist church, yesterday (August 3).
She expressed concern about the level of indiscipline and crass behaviour displayed by some members of society, especially at schools.
Mrs Williams noted that the ministry is taking an all-hands-on-deck approach to the issue, enlisting several stakeholders.
Mrs Williams is hoping that a partnership with churches across the island will help to impact positive change in the behaviour of the nation’s children.
She noted that churches are a pillar of society and have a role to play in guiding both children and adults.
