East Central St. Catherine MP welcomes arrest and charge of two people in relation to firebombing of homes in Gregory Park

Member of Parliament for East Central St. Catherine, Alando Terrelonge, has welcomed the arrest and charge of two people in relation to the firebombing of 11 homes in Gregory Park, St. Catherine, on August 12.

A taxi operator was shot and killed during the incident and an elderly woman died from burns sustained during the blaze.

Yesterday, Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey announced that 24-year-old Nigel McClarty and 21-year-old Odane Fowler, were charged with murder, arson, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition and being part of a criminal organization, in relation to the incident.

Reacting to the charges, MP Terrelonge said community members are hopeful that the other persons involved in perpetrating the crime, will also be brought to justice.
