Dr. Nigel Clarke warns future finance ministers against making choices that could derail the economy
Former Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke has warned future finance ministers against making choices that could derail the country’s economy.
In particular, he advised them not to be impressed by offers to borrow money.
Speaking in Parliament yesterday, Dr. Clarke noted that with the country’s improved fiscal space, there have been many persons seeking to lend to Jamaica.
He urged future finance ministers to be wise and continue the sound fiscal policies that have brought the country success.
Dr. Clarke reiterated that there is no room for error as the choices that the country makes going forward are critical for economic stability.
