Dental surgeons to continue negotiations with Health and Finance Ministries regarding compensation
The island’s public dental surgeons will be seeking to continue negotiations with the health and finance ministries, about compensation related matters.
This, as the group has rejected the latest proposal from the finance ministry.
Some 100 dental surgeons had threatened to take industrial action if outstanding compensation issues were not addressed.
However, the ministries called a recent meeting to continue negotiations and made a proposal to the workers.
Speaking with Irie FM News today, president of the Jamaica Association Public Dental Surgeons, Dr. Vanessa Kiffin expressed disappointment that the proposed compensation package is still not adequate.
Dr. Kiffin said the strike notice remains suspended pending further negotiations.
