Deandre Watkins, Hansle Parchment & Shanieka Ricketts listed for Monaco Diamond League

Newly minted national 400 metre champion Deandre Watkins gets his first taste of Wanda Diamond League at the Monaco Grand Prix on July 12.

This comes two weeks after he surprised the field at the JAAA National Senior and Junior Championships at the National Stadium when he won the event in 44.48 seconds to get the better of Sean Bailey (44.65s) and Jevaughn Powell (44.79s).

The Elite Performance Track Club standout will line up in Monaco against the Americans Quincy Hall, Michael Norman and Vernon Norwood, Canadian Christopher Williams, Bayapo Ndori (Botswana) and Lica Sito (Italy).

Another newly minted national champion, Malik James-King, is entered for the men’s 400 metre hurdles where he will take on Olympic champion and world record holder Karsten Warholm of Sweden and world champion Allison dos Santos of Brazil.

Olympic 110 metre hurdlers champion Hansle Parchment is also listed for his pet event, while two-time World Championships silver medalist Shanieka Ricketts is down for the women’s triple jump.
