CPFSA launches probe into reported beating of 14-year-old girl in Clarendon

The Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) says it has launched an investigation into the reported beating of a 14-year-old girl in Clarendon at the weekend.

Police report that the teen has been hospitalized in serious condition.

The lawmen say at least 5 females, including teens have been taken into custody and the search continues for others.

A video of the incident which has been circulating on social media, shows the group cornering and beating the teen until she appeared to be unconscious.

Chief Executive Officer of the CPFSA Laurette Adams-Thomas says the agency is investigating the matter and stands ready to provide the necessary support to the child and her family.
