The 18-month-old baby girl who was thrown to the ground by a woman engaged in an altercation with another woman, does not appear to have any serious physical injury.

The incident came to public attention after a video went viral on social media and drew the ire of citizens.

A statement from the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) said the child was medically examined, and although no sign of physical injury was found then, the Agency will continue to monitor the child for any future developments.

The Agency said the baby girl was brought to the office by a relative yesterday, after which the child was taken to court, where the judge deemed her to be in need of care and protection, and placed her under State care.

The CPFSA said checks were made to determine the suitability of a relative taking custody of the girl, but when this was not successful, the child was placed in a State facility.
