Consumer confidence decreased by 2 per cent during April to June Quarter

Consumer confidence saw a marginal downward movement during the second quarter of this year.

Chief Executive Officer of Market Research Services, Don Anderson made the disclosure during this morning’s (July 18) Business and Consumer Confidence Indices Webinar.

Mr. Anderson said consumer confidence fell by 2 per cent between April and June, compared to the January to March period.

He explained that though this is a small fall-off, the reduction is something to watch over the next quarters.

Mr. Anderson noted, however, that when this figure is compared with data from the similar period last year, there is a slight improvement in consumer confidence.

Meantime, Mr. Anderson revealed that business confidence saw a slight increase of just under one per cent during the second quarter of this year.
