Classes suspended at St. Richards Infant and Pre-school following gun attack on principal
Classes at the St Richards Infant and Pre-school in St Andrew were suspended on Thursday morning, after a shooting incident near the school.
Police reports are that gunmen opened fire at the principal, however she escaped unharmed.
In a communique, parents were urged to collect their children.
The school says it continues to pray for the safety of all its teachers, parents and students.
Meantime, commanding officer for the St Andrew North Police, Superintendent Sherika Service, has sought to assure parents of the St Richards Infant and Pre-school in St Andrew, that the school is not being targeted by gunmen.
The incident resulted in the suspension of classes.
Some parents expressed fear for their children’s safety.
In response, Superintendent Service explained that based on preliminary investigations, the principal was the target of the shooting and not the school.
