Classes end early at Oberlin High following bizarre incident during devotion
Classes ended prematurely at the Oberlin High School in St Andrew on Wednesday, following what has been described as a bizarre incident during the devotional exercise.
It’s reported that several students most of whom were females fell to the ground, began frothing and shaking when the incident occurred.
Member of Parliament for St Andrew West Rural Juliet Cuthbert Flynn said she was in the vicinity when she was notified of the incident.
She said on her way to the institution about 10:30 a-m, she saw some students who told her that classes had ended early because students were fainting.
She said when she got there, she spoke with a guidance counsellor who told her that the students began fainting, when a teacher was praying in the devotional exercise.
She said she made contact with the education ministry .
Mrs Cuthbert-Flynn, who said she transported one of the students, noted that there were pastors on the compound administering prayers in response to the incident.
