Chetwood Memorial Primary plunged into mourning following murder of students
The Chetwood Memorial Primary school has been plunged into mourning following the killing of two students in Salt Spring, St James on Monday.
They are 7-year-old Justin Perry and 9-year-old Nahcoliva Smith, both from Salt Spring.
26-year-old labourer Tevin Hayle was also killed in the incident.
Irie Fm news understands that the students were in grades 2 and 3 at the institution.
In a special devotion ceremony this morning principal of the school, Garvin Atkinson expressed sadness at the incident.
The boys were remembered as being well behaved students.
Police say at around 5:20 p.m., a taxi dropped off a passenger and picked up Hayle along the Flower Hill main road in Salt Spring.
It’s reported that a man alighted from the bushes and opened gunfire at the vehicle.
The children and Hayle received gunshot wounds to their heads.
They were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
