It was revealed this week, that Jamaica has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), that will see Jamaica temporarily accepting deported non-Jamaican migrants from the U.S. It has triggered widespread public discussion and criticism about the perceived lack of transparency, security risks and the absence of clear benefits for the island.
Opposition Leader Mark Golding has called on the Government to tell the nation how the country will benefit from the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between Jamaica and the United States relating to Third-Country Nationals. According to the Government, the MOU will provide for Third-Country Nationals transferred from the U.S., to transit through Jamaica to their final destination.
