Young Jamaicans are being challenged to become the generation  that strengthens the country's democracy, building on the foundation laid by national hero Norman Manley. The call  came from Culture Minister Olivia Grange as she addressed a floral tribute marking the 133rd anniversary of Manley's birth.

Former Prime Minister, Bruce Golding, says the international order - the set of rules, norms and institutions that govern how countries interact with each other - must be drastically revised to ensure it benefits all nations.While addressing the 14th World Peace Forum at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, on Friday, Mr. Golding lamented how many countries continue to be disadvantaged by the evolving international order.

The Advocates Network (AN) says the recently signed Third Country National (TCN) agreement between Jamaica and the United States must be made public if the Government is to regain the trust and confidence of citizens.The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) facilitates the temporary housing of TCNs after which they will transit through Jamaica to their final destinations.

Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has stressed that the United States did not approach Jamaica to accept deportees with criminal backgrounds, under the Third-Country Nationals (TCN) agreement. Some Jamaicans have raised concerns about the migrant deal, citing safety as a major issue.
