The bus was destroyed by fire at approximately 4 p.m.on May 30 at the Spanish Town lay-by. In the JUTC's initial report following the incident, it stated that a bus assigned to route 22 pulled into the lay-by, when the bus crew observed sparks coming from a cellphone charging port at the rear of the vehicle.

Five more Haitians are in police custody increasing the number of migrants to 22. Earlier today 17 Haitians including three children were taken into custody, after they landed in a boat in Portland overnight.
