Cat Coore thankful after successful surgery

Stephen Cat Coore of the legendary Reggae Band Third World is moving to reassure fans that he had a successful surgery.

Speaking with Music News today (12.02.22) from his hospital bed at the University Hospital of the West Indies, Cat Coore confirmed he recently did surgery on his oesophagus.

While extending gratitude to well-wishers, he says he fully expects to recover in time for Third World’s upcoming shows.

Cat Coore was one of the early members of Inner Circle before leaving to start Third World with keyboardist Ibo Cooper in 1973.

The band toured the United Kingdom with Bob Marley and The Wailers in 1975.

The group is known for hits such as “96 Degrees in The Shade”, “Try Jah Love” and “Now That We Found Love” among others.

In 2020, their album ‘ More Work to be Done’ produced by Damian Jr Gong Marley was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Reggae Album category.
