Chairman of the National Helmet Wearing Coalition (NHWC) Dr. Lucien Jones has renewed the call for all motorcyclists to wear certified helmets.

The fresh appeal follows a crash in Westmoreland yesterday, which claimed the lives of 2 motorcyclists.

Their identities have not been released but they are said to be males, ages 18 and 39.

The collision happened at about 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of Mint Road and Grange Hill Main Road.

Dr. Jones who is also Vice Chairman of the National Road Safety Council (NRSC) noted that the island will continue to see these incidents in the upcoming year if the call is not heeded.

Dr. Jones also called for the resumption of specialized training for motorcyclists.
