Cabinet agrees to concept document that will hopefully result in sexual and reproductive health policy in near future

Cabinet has agreed to a concept document that will hopefully result in a sexual and reproductive health policy in the near future.

That’s according to Health and Wellness Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton.

He was speaking at the Mandeville Regional Hospital’s Baby Accreditation Ceremony yesterday (July 29).

Dr. Tufton noted that not enough is being done regarding the care of expectant mothers. This, he explained is due in part to the absence of an agreed policy relating to sexual and reproductive health.

Dr. Tufton noted that although the concept document is in its preliminary stages, it represents a commitment to address the risks associated with sexual and reproductive health in the country.
