Beryllium President Andre McLean describes yesterday’s attack on money courier guards in Manchester as an act of terror

President of Beryllium Limited, Andre McLean has described yesterday’s (August 25) attack on members of his team in Manchester, as an act of terror.

Reports are that at about 5 PM, armed robbers shot at the guards while they were at the Bank of Nova Scotia, in Mandeville.

Mr. McLean said no guard was hurt during the incident.

However, it has been reported that at least three people who were waiting in line to use the automated banking machines were shot and wounded.

They were reportedly taken to hospital for treatment.

Videos of the attack, which have gone viral on social media, show men armed with high-powered guns, carrying what appears to be large money bags from a building, to an awaiting black motor car, that later sped off.

Several explosions can be heard throughout the videos.

When asked by IRIE FM news this morning, Mr. McLean could not state how much money was stolen.

He called on persons who have information about this criminal act to immediately contact the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
