Opposition Spokesperson on Health and Wellness, Dr. Morais Guy is calling on the Government to ensure that measures are in place to prevent monkeypox patients from breaking the isolation protocol.
This, after the country recorded its second monkeypox case yesterday (July 24).
On July 6, the first case was recorded in the island.
However, the patient who had travelled from the United Kingdom reportedly escaped from the May Pen Hospital in Clarendon, where he was being treated.
He was later found and is said to be recovering. However, the taxi driver who transported the patient from the hospital remains unknown.
Speaking with IRIE FM news, Dr. Guy said the Government should ensure that such an incident does not recur.
