Residents of the Waterford community in St Catherine, are upset this morning, after a mural they painted as part of the Jamaica Independence celebrations was defaced.

 

A video which has been circulating on social media shows the mural covered with white paint.

 

In the video, one man who claimed to be a part of the team who worked on the mural, lamented on what he has described as a wasted effort.

 

Member of Parliament for Southeast St Catherine, Robert Miller told IRIE FM news that he received a call that the mural was being defaced at about 12 AM.

 

He said a report has been made to the police.

 

Mr. Miller described the incident as a national disgrace.
