The GraceKennedy (GK) family celebrated the Company’s 104th anniversary on Friday, with the renaming of its headquarters at 42–56 Harbour Street as The Don Wehby Building, in honour of former Group CEO, Don Wehby.

The decision to rename the headquarters was first announced during the 31st Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica’s Hall of Fame induction in December 2025, where Mr. Wehby was honoured for his transformative impact on the Jamaican business landscape.

Speaking at the renaming ceremony, Group CEO Frank James reflected on Wehby’s passion for the Harbour Street headquarters project, which was built during his tenure as Group CEO and opened in 2019 as a J$3.25 billion investment in downtown Kingston.

James also recalled how Wheby made sure workers gained certification and skills that would serve them for years.

In the meantime, Chairman of the Board, Gordon Shirley, described the decision to rename the building as deliberate and meaningful.

He explained that the renaming is in recognition of Wehby’s legacy of leadership, which he noted was thoughtful, forward-looking and grounded in honesty, integrity and trust.
