The St. Ann police have launched a probe into the murder of a man in Ocho Rios, yesterday (August 5).

The man’s identity is being withheld, pending notification of relatives.

Head of the division, SSP Dwight Powell, said reports indicate, that about 5 p-m, a gunman walked up to the man in the vicinity of a plaza and opened fire hitting him in the head.

The gunman then fled the scene.

The wounded man was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

SSP Powell said investigators are following strong leads.
