President of the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services, TODSS Egeton Newman is urging members to seek legal advice, while preparing for the expected refund of monies paid for illegal traffic tickets.
This in response to concerns, following a court ruling that motorists charged exorbitant fines, illegally under the old road traffic legislation over a 15 year period are entitled to a refund.
The court is to determine at a later date, how the refund is to be done and urged affected motorists to have proof, when seeking their refund.
The affected motorists include several Public Passenger Vehicle, PPV operators who have long complained about flaws in the ticketing system.
Mr. Newman says operators should prepare and organise themselves ahead of the court’s final decision on the refund.
