Consumers who intend to use Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) across the island today, will likely encounter difficulties while conducting cash related services.

That’s according to director of operations for Guardsman Group Limited, Lieutenant Commander, George Overton.

This, following a robbery in Portmore, St Catherine on Sunday, during which three security guards attached to the company were shot and wounded.

A civilian was also wounded in the incident, which occurred as the security guards were servicing an ATM.

The sum of money stolen has not yet been determined.

Speaking to Irie Fm news on Monday morning, Lieutenant Overton said operations started late Monday morning, due to counselling and discussions following yesterday’s incident.
