Audit to be done of sanitary conveniences in public health facilities
An audit is to be done of all sanitary conveniences in public health facilities.
Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton said there are over 500 sanitary conveniences in the nation’s hospitals alone.
The commissioning of the audit, follows reports of deplorable conditions, including missing toilet seats, wet floors, odors and broken fixtures, among others.
Speaking on Tuesday morning at the official opening of the Chapelton Community Hospital in Clarendon, the health minister urged users to treat the facility properly.
He added that the expectation is that those who oversee the facilities will ensure the sanitary conveniences are kept clean.
Dr. Tufton pointed out that there has been abuse of the sanitary facilities.
