A man is hospitalized under police guard, and a manhunt is underway for several others, who are suspected of attempting to break into a St. Catherine business establishment on Sunday. 

Police say the hospitalized man was shot and wounded during an alleged confrontation with lawmen at the intersection of St. Johns Road and Valdez Road.

Operations officer for St. Catherine North, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Camendo Thoms said the police will not relent in their quest to arrest the other alleged culprits.

DSP Thoms also pledged that his team will continue to work to keep residents and properties in the area safe.
