Alleged burglar mobbed and set on fire in St. Elizabeth
A suspected burglar was mobbed and set a blaze by angry residents in Myersville, St. Elizabeth yesterday.
He has been identified as Jermaine Davis.
Police reports are that about 2:00 pm Davis was seen driving a Black Toyota Voxy motorcar in the community.
It’s alleged that he later broke into a house and stole some items.
Police said residents confronted Davis and tried to restrain him, but it’s alleged that he brandished a knife and managed to escape.
He was subsequently accosted by the residents, who mobbed him.
Davis and his motor vehicle were then set ablaze.
The police were alerted, and Davis was found along the roadway with his hands and feet bound.
He was taken to the Mandeville Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
