Ackera Nugent’s 60metres hurdles Under 20 record ratified by World Athletics
The under 20 Indoor 60 metre hurdles world record set by Ackera Nugent has been ratified by track and fields world governing body, World Athletics.
The mark of 7.92 seconds was recorded by Nugent on her way to winning at the N- C-Double-a Indoor championships in Fayetteville on March 13
Nugent who posted a personal best of 12.45 seconds in the 100 metre hurdles at the big 12 championships in May missed out on the rest of the season because of injury.
In the meantime the under 20 200 metres world record set by Erryon Knighton was also among the other records ratified by track and field’s world governing body.
The American clocked 19.69 seconds at the US Championships on June 26 this year , to improve on his own previous ratified record of 19.84, also set at Hayward Field in Eugene on June 27 last year.
