Jamaica Premier League champions Portmore United secured their first victory in the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup last night, after they blanked fellow Jamaican team Cavalier, two-nil, at the National Stadium.

Jevaughn Grant put Portmore into the lead when he headed home a cross from Rashaun Small in the 14th minute, before Javier Brown confirmed all three points when he netted the winning goal two minutes from time.
The win pushed the St. Catherine-based team to third in Group B on three points, behind second-place Cibao on four points and leaders Salcedo on five.
Earlier this week, another Jamaican team in the group, Mount Pleasant Academy, had to settle for a one-all draw with Salcedo FC of the Dominican Republic, with Warner Brown on the scoresheet for the Theodore Whitmore-coached side.
