Beach Inna Bondage: The Fight for Jamaica’s Coastline, a film in collaboration with JaBBEM and reggae artiste, Keznamdi has copped an honorable mention at the San Antonio Black International Film Festival in, Texas.
The award was announced during the festival’s live awards ceremony on Monday, October 5.
JaBBEM shared the update on social media with a note from SABIFF which says, ‘Beach Inna Bondage ranked among the top films in its category and came very close to receiving an award,’ noting that the honorable mention was given as meaningful recognition of the film’s quality, artistry, and impact.
Beach Inna Bondage, directed by Emiel Martens and Elsie Vermeer chronicles the grassroots movement to reclaim public access to Jamaica’s beaches.
