Employees at the Financial Services Commission (FSC) have threatened to take industrial action next week, to highlight their grouse with management following a breakdown in wage negotiations.
The Union of Clerical, Administrative and Supervisory Employees (UCASE) said the workers agreed to the protest, after negotiations over salary and fringe benefits collapsed on Tuesday.
The workers reportedly rejected management’s position that salary and benefits adjustments for the contract period April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2027 cannot be made until next year March due to fiscal challenges.
Management claimed that negotiations cannot be settled because the Commission is unable to adjust the fees it charges the insurance industry and this has put the Commission in an adverse financial position.
UCASE President Vincent Morrison says the union has written to management requesting an urgent meeting, in an effort to avert industrial action planned for Tuesday November 10.
