Temporary solution proposed for Hartford, Westmoreland road conditions following protest by transport operators
A temporary solution has been put forward to address road conditions in Hartford, Westmoreland after some taxi operators protested yesterday about the state of the roads in the community.
The taxi operators expressed that the bad roads are forcing them to spend heavily on vehicle repairs.
They told reporters that the roads in the area have been neglected for some time, making daily travel increasingly difficult and costly.
Member of Parliament for Central Westmoreland and Deputy Spokesperson for Road and Works Dwayne Vaz said temporary patching will be done.
Meantime Mr. Vaz also noted that the National Works Agency (NWA) is unable to provide a timeline for which a more permanent solution would be provided.
