Jah B lives on: Solomonic Productions honours reggae icon with series of events
The legacy of reggae icon Bunny Wailer, affectionately known as Jah B, continues to pulse through Jamaica this week as fans and musicians unite to celebrate what would have been his 79th birthday on April 10.
A three- day tribute, organized by Solomonic Productions, will run from April 9 to 11, honouring a man whose influence on reggae and Rastafari culture remains immeasurable.
Jah b’s son Naki Wailer says the 3-day tribute begins with a symposium at UWI Mona on April 9, followed by the Rootsman Skankin’ Live concert on Friday April 10 at 3 Greenvale Avenue Kingston 10.
The 3-day celebration culminates on April 11 with a football funday at Haile Selassie High School in Kingston.
A three-time grammy award winner and founding member of the Wailers alongside legends like Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, Neville “Bunny Wailer” Livingston carved out a singular path in reggae history. He died on March 2, 2021.
