Full operations have resumed at family courts in St. James and Hanover.
The Court Administration Division (CAD) said the reopening follows the passage of Hurricane Melissa on October 28.
The family court in Westmoreland will resume operations on Wednesday December 3.
Sittings will resume from the Whithorn outstation of the Westmoreland parish court, two days per week on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Director of Client Services, Communications and Information at the CAD Kadiesh Jarrett Fletcher said, “the resumption is good news for the people of western Jamaica.
She highlighted that the reopening ensures that families and the most vulnerable who depend on the justice system can access timely, compassionate and effective service.
Members of the public are being urged to attend to their matters as scheduled and to remain attentive to official updates.
