Knox College will not reopen as scheduled after Hurricane Melissa left the campus without electricity and running water.

According to principal Alexander Bourne the school had originally projected to welcome students back today, but the lack of basic utilities makes reopening impossible for now.

Mr. Bourne added that since the passage of the hurricane the school has not yet been able to make contact with all of its students.

However, for those contacted, the institution is providing support to both staff and students even as work continues to restore the damaged campus.
