Members of Parliament observed a minute of silence for Hurricane Melissa victims this afternoon.

The category 5 system which made landfall one week ago, claimed at least 32 lives.

Many Jamaicans remain homeless.

During today’s sitting of parliament, House Speaker Juliet Holness acknowledged and led MPs into a minute of silence.

She said the memories of the victims will live on.
