Jamaica’s three latest road deaths were recorded in hurricane ravaged, St. Elizabeth over the past 72 hours.

That’s according to data from the Constabulary’s Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (P-STEB) and Vice-Chairman of the National Road Safety Council, Dr. Lucien Jones.

The deceased are all males, ages 25, 28 and 67.

Their identities have not yet been released.

The first crash occurred on Saturday at about 7:10 PM, along the Cheapside main road in Junction.

It involved a motorcar and a motorcycle. The 28-year-old driver of the motorcycle was killed in the incident.

On Sunday, at around 3:10 PM, the 67-year-old man was killed when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving and crashed.

And, the latest crash at about 7:30 AM along the Rich Pen main road, in Pedro Plains, claimed the life of a 25-year-old motorcyclist.

Preliminary reports suggest that he lost control of the bike and crashed.

Their deaths push the number of people killed in road crashes since the start of the year to 325.

Dr. Jones expressed concern that the deaths occurred in a parish that is still recovering from the hurricane.

He said if action is not taken, Jamaica will record over 400 road deaths this year.
