Manchester farmer shot dead by men posing as police in Canewood District

A Manchester farmer was shot dead at his home in Canewood District in Comfort Hall, this morning.

Dead is 30-year-old Ojay Gooden.

Reports indicate that at about 1:05 A.M., Gooden was home with relatives when gunmen posing as police officers kicked opened the front door and shot him multiple times.

The gunmen also set Gooden’s vehicle on fire, before escaping in the area.

The police and the fire department were summoned and upon their arrival; Gooden was seen lying on the floor.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The motor car was also extinguished.

The murder is the second in Canewood in the past two weeks.

A man identified as Shyan Young was stabbed to death in the community on October 12.

Councillor for the Mile Gully Division Rohan Kennedy expressed alarm at the incidents, in what he said is a quiet community.
