Reggae Boyz Climb to 68th in Latest FIFA World Ranking
Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz have inched up one place to 68th on the latest release of the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking, following a productive international window in October.
The rise comes on the back of mixed results in the Concacaf World Cup qualifiers, where Jamaica bounced back from a surprise 2-0 defeat to Curaçao with a commanding 4-0 victory over Bermuda to regain control of Group B.
Jamaica now sit fifth among Concacaf nations in the global standings — trailing Mexico (14th), the United States (16th), Canada (28th, down two), Costa Rica (45th, up two) and Honduras (64th, up one).
At the top of the global ranking, Euro 2024 champions Spain (1st) have strengthened their hold on the number one spot after back-to-back wins consolidated their position, ending Argentina’s long reign earlier this year. However, the world champions (2nd, up one) are once again closing the gap after leapfrogging France (3rd, down one), who were held to a 2-2 draw by Iceland in UEFA qualifying.
England and Portugal complete the top five, while the Netherlands (6th, up one) have edged ahead of Brazil (7th, down one) after the South Americans suffered a setback in a friendly against Japan. Belgium (8th), Italy (9th, down one) and Germany (10th, up two) round out the top ten, with the Germans reclaiming their place after briefly slipping out last month. Their resurgence has come at the expense of Croatia (11th, down two), who dropped points in qualification for next year’s World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Elsewhere, Morocco (12th, down one) remain Africa’s highest-ranked side, while Hungary (37th, up four), Scotland (38th, up five), Nigeria (41st, up four) and Romania (47th, up four) have been rewarded for recent strong performances.
The biggest movers in this edition include Niger (108th), Lesotho (144th) and the Faroe Islands (127th), all of whom have climbed nine places. Kosovo (84th, up seven) have reached an all-time high, with Syria (86th) and Liberia (138th) also making notable gains.
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking will be released on November 21, 2025.
