Cavalier, Portmore headline Match Day 8 in Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League

The spotlight will be on Stadium East this Sunday as defending champions Cavalier go head-to-head with Portmore United in the feature encounter of Match Day 8 in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League.

Cavalier, currently sixth in the standings on 10 points, are chasing a third consecutive victory as they look to continue their recent resurgence. Portmore, meanwhile, sit third on 12 points and will be aiming to snap a two-game winless run following successive draws against Racing United and Molynes United. Kick-off for the marquee clash is set for 5:30 p.m.

The day’s action will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the same venue, where league leaders Montego Bay United face Molynes United. The Montegonians lead the standings with 16 points from seven matches, while Molynes remain second from bottom on five points, still searching for their first win of the campaign after five draws and two losses.

In other fixtures, second-place Racing United take on newly promoted Spanish Town Police at Ferdie Neita Park, Harbour View travel to the Edward Seaga Sports Complex to meet Tivoli Gardens, and Mount Pleasant, last season’s beaten finalists, host Chapelton Maroons at Drax Hall.

The day’s schedule also features Treasure Beach at home to Waterhouse at the STETHS Complex. All those matches are slated for 3:00 p.m. kick-offs.
