Hear the Children’s Cry says criminals must have a code of conduct when it comes to children

Advocacy group, Hear the Children’s Cry (HTCC) says criminals must have a code of conduct when it comes to children.

The statement from Director Nigel Cooper comes in the wake of recent tragic incidents involving children.

On Sunday, 4-year-old Shannon Gordon was among 5 people shot and killed by gunmen in Commodore, Linstead, St. Catherine.

An 11-year-old was also wounded in the incident.

Also on Sunday, a 9-year-old girl was wounded during a triple shooting in Cockburn Pen, St. Andrew which claimed the life of a man.

In the latest incident yesterday, the Police reported  that a burnt and mutilated body believed to be that of missing 13-year-old Shantina Sergeant was found on the Clarendon/Manchester border.

Speaking with Irie FM News this morning, Mr. Cooper condemned the incident.

He said criminals should know that children are off limits.

He also called for everyone to work to prevent crime and violence against children.
