Grade 4 students show improved performance in pep with, national literacy targets met
Students at the grade 4 level have shown improved performance in the latest Primary Exit Profile (PEP) assessments, with national literacy targets met and steady improvement in mathematics.
The students sat their language arts and mathematics performance task exams earlier this year and the results were released last week.
Education Minister Dr. Dana Morris Dixon shared the update during a church service hosted by the Jamaica Tertiary Education Commission (JTEC), marking World Teachers’ Day and the start of J-TEC week.
Dr. Morris Dixon said despite the challenges in the education sector there are “rays of sunshine” to be celebrated.
She praised teachers across the island for helping to drive the gains.
