NWA undertakes damage assessment following heavy rain over the weekend
The National Works Agency (NWA) says its teams are carrying out damage assessments following heavy rain across sections of the island on the weekend.
The rains were associated with a trough, induced by tropical storm Imelda which produced a large area of unstable weather across Jamaica.
NWA’s Communication and Customer Services Manager Stephen Shaw said St. Thomas, Kingston and St. Andrew and St. Catherine were impacted.
He said impacted areas had fallen trees, blocked drains, damaged roadways among other issues.
As it relates to the estimated cost of damage, he said those assessments are also being done.
