Residents of Trafalgar Park affected by floodwaters again
Some residents of Trafalgar Park in St. Andrew are again trying to pick up the pieces after floodwaters caused by heavy rains swept through their homes last night.
One resident, Nadine Thompson and her tenants were affected for the second time this Month.
Their home was flooded in a similar incident over a week ago.
Ms. Thompson recounted last night’s incident.
Meantime, Member of Parliament for South-East St. Andrew Julian Robinson visited the affected residents.
He said a blocked gully has been identified as the main problem and steps will be taken to clear it.
St. Andrew is among 9 Parishes under a flash flood warning until 8:00 a.m tomorrow as heavy rains associated with Tropical Storm Imelda continue to affect parts of Jamaica.
The other parishes are Kingston, St. Thomas, St. Catherine, Clarendon, Manchester, St. Elizabeth, Westmoreland and Hanover.
Residents in low-lying and flood prone areas are being urged to stay alert for rising waters and to be ready to move quickly to higher ground if necessary.
