Trelawny police reiterate commitment to ensuring welfare of children
The Trelawny police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring the welfare of students even at home, through its Safe School Programme.
The commitment follows the recent suspected suicide of 16 year old student of Holmwood Technical High Jhamar Surgeon, also called ‘D J’ on Sunday
The teen who resided in Stettin district, Trelawny was found in the kitchen at his home about 3:00 a.m.
The police were alerted and he was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Superintendent of police Peter Salkey, while speaking at the National Safe School church service in Falmouth, noted that the initiative seeks to reach students wherever they are.
Superintendent Salkey urged persons to speak up about any concern they have in a bid to prevent negative incidents.
