Companies Office of Jamaica reports more transactions with fewer in-person customers as its digital services grow

The Companies Office of Jamaica (COJ) is reporting more transactions with fewer in-person customers, as its digital services continue to grow.

Between April and August this year, the Agency recorded a 7% decline in walk-in customers, while online transactions rose by 21% compared to the same period last year.

Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Aubyn Hill, provided the update at a press conference this morning.

He noted that the goal is to have minimal need for in-person visits, unless absolutely necessary.

Mr Hill also acknowledged that document processing backlogs have been a challenge for the COJ.

However, he said the issue is being addressed and is projected to be fully cleared by the end of next month.
