Jamaica Bar Association calls on the Private Bar to support legal aid cases
The Jamaica Bar Association is encouraging members of the private bar to assist more with legal aid cases.
This is in a bid to reduce the number of cases with persons before the court without proper legal representation.
Speaking at the opening of the Home Circuit Court yesterday on behalf of the president of the Bar, attorney-at-law Anthony Williams said the aim is for the Bar to lead by example.
Mr. Williams said the association is also imploring lawyers to ensure greater utilization of time to reduce the backlog of cases.
