Over 20 firearms seized by Manchester Police since start of year
Twenty one firearms have been seized by the Manchester Police since the start of the year.
The two latest guns and several rounds of ammunition were seized on Monday.
Arrests were also made.
Commanding Officer, Superintendent Carey Duncan, said one of the incidents occurred at about 12:30 p.m. in the Battersea area.
He said the police intercepted a vehicle, which was searched.
A pistol was reportedly found and 2 persons were arrested.
He said hours later, another firearm was recovered in the same area in Battersea.
And, Superintendent Duncan said a man was arrested on Greenvale main road on Monday morning, following a robbery on Mountain View Avenue, St. Andrew.
A large sum of cash was also recovered.
