JLP Communications Task Force member welcomes strong representation of women in Gordon House

Jamaica Labour Party Communications Task Force Member, Dr. Dana Morris-Dixon has expressed satisfaction with the strong representation of women who will now be in Gordon House.

Dr. Morris-Dixon commended the women who contested the general election, and who will now serve as Parliamentarians despite the challenges of political life.

Of the 63 seats contested, 19 women were elected to parliament in the preliminary count.

12 of them are from the JLP while 7 are from the People’s National Party (PNP).

Dr. Morris-Dixon emphasized that women’s representation in parliament is vital.

She expressed her satisfaction at seeing so many women willing to take on the responsibility of national leadership.
